An UNSINKABLE LEGEND. The Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 290 is a unique highly sought after fishing or cruising boat. The Outrage 290 exemplifies Whaler quality and tr IMPRESSIVE offshore capabilities. True blue water capability has a number of factors. Tankage is one often overlooked. With 300 gal fuel capacity and 30 + gal TANK of water this boat has traveled directly from St Petersburg, Florida to Habana ,Cuba without refueling or replenishing. It has an excellent head and complete electronic suite for offshore and intra coastal use. The bolsters and seats are new vinyl and the boat has been detailed and has fresh bottom paint. The boat has been maintained by a Ships master and a certified Yamaha technician. The boat is under- propped so it can plane at slower speeds in a chop. With more propeller pitch it will easily hit 42 knots at full capacity.
Ariel is powered with twin Yamaha 250 HP 4 strokes of 2017 vintage which are in excellent condition and quite powerful. They have about 950 hours, have been meticulously maintained by a Yamaha master technician and the prospective buyer is welcome to review the complete service records. With a 300-gallon fuel capacity and 30+ gal of fresh water aboard, she has a range at cruise of at least 350 miles loaded with a reserve. The fuel tanks were drained 2 years ago to remove any water or Foriegn material. Two new batteries were installed in the past year.
Throughout the boat, there is storage for about any trip. Below decks the functional cabin can sleep 3 comfortably.
The cabin is laid out nicely with a stand-up head to the starboard side, a sink, a tray for silverware. There are spaces for microwave and stove. There's enough room to sleep 3 adults comfortably. It has been custom modified with two additional opening ports for ventilation. These were designed and placed by an experienced Whaler technician. Additionally UL approved safety grab rails have been custom installed following guidelines.
On deck , from fore to aft, there are RIGID brand LED lights for night navigation. There is a windlass, Fortress anchor , chain, and anchor line ( ft). There is some Seadek that I am trying to get replaced. The trunk cabin is a true fish-around with good fairways and a solid rail.
On deck, there is a tackle center with 2 sinks, a fresh water and raw water washdown, more than ample tackle storage, a lighted live well, and two massive 6 foot fish boxes. There are reinforced rod holders for pulling down riggers. There are upper spreader lights aft for night. The vessel is set up for all weather with serviceable canvas.
Below decks, the cabin is laid out nicely with a stand-up head to the starboard side and a full galley to port with spaces for a sink, microwave and stove. There's enough room to sleep 3 adults comfortably for those overnight trips or long weekends away cruising.
The electronics suite is state of the art. The MFD a is a Lowrance Carbon 12. The depth finder/ plotter is a Lowrance Carbon 9 color with side view.Lowrance makes the best Sounders. Period. I have a Sitex 7 inch MFD dedicated to the Sitex radar and Sionyx night vision. There is a Raytheon auto pilot and also power steering. There are 2 premium VHF radios. One overhead mounted and one in the cabin with an 18 ft extended heavy duty antenna as well as the working 8 ft antenna. There is a g epirb registered to me that I prefer to keep. The Ritchie compass has no bubbles.
Dock lines are included and fenders if you wish. USCG safety equipment is included.
Aft there is a swim platform thwartships and a boarding ladder with adjacent freshwater shower. On the port side there is a raw water washdown. There are multiple extra rod holders around the boat. There is a copy of the original owners manual and paperwork and instructions for all electronics and the engines as well.
Some unique options are a two tone white and gray deck with custom gray non skid that reduces glare and looks quite nautical and there are custom handholds throughout the vessel.
